English abstract
Raimund Wolfert introduces a Silesian friendship glass from the 18th century that is engraved with a David and Jonathan motif. It was bequeathed to the Gay Museum Berlin by a Norwegian collector. A homosexual context can be assumed but not proven. The author considers this object in the light of a growing tradition of positive self actualization and defence of same sex affection and love that originated in the 19th century.
