Thinking about sexualities after National Socialism in historical-political education

A recent conference focussed on current debates on the history of the prosecution of homosexuals in National Socialism and their applications for historical-political education. Participants from memorial centres, universities and the press discussed how Nazi ideology is still present in today's culture and society and also influences historical-political education. This article focuses on some of the conference's key debates: problems of remembrance between different generations, testimonies as sources of historical knowledge, representation of homosexuality during National Socialism and its present consequences, theoretical concepts for discussing identity, difference and discrimination.
