Despite numerous publications Gigi Martin is relatively unknown today. Even in Queer/Homosexual Studies her work remains almost unnoticed although Martin wrote about same sex relationships in her novels and stories. In the early 1960s the then 25 years old authoress gained quite some popularity when her first novel Geh vorbei, wenn Du kannst was published. In this autobiographical novel Martin portrays a young girl's love for another girl in her school. Heike Schader's article concentrates on Martin's journalistic work for Revue magazine. From may to autumn 1961 Gigi Martin interviewed numerous celebrities at the Côte d'Azur, first for Revue later in her own interest. This article is based on Heike Schader's several interviews with Gigi Martin.
